Preparing Your Children for Future Challenges
Preparing Your Children for Future Challenges
Church of the Saviour Early Learning Center (COTSELC) opened its doors to families throughout Cleveland Heights, Ohio in December 1975. We are an outreach ministry of the Church of the Saviour United Methodist Church. For more than 48 years, our Early Learning Center has been providing quality childcare services for little ones aged 18 months to 5 years.
We started offering before- and after-school programs in 1999. And in 2008, our infant room opened. We now welcome all children aged 6 weeks to 7 years to our Early Learning Center!
What Parents Have to Say About Us
What Parents Have to Say About Us
“I was impressed by the Pre-K teacher that was teaching 3 and 4-year-old children colors and days of the week in Spanish. That was unimaginable to me.”
“What I liked was the enclosed roof-top playground area with a rubberized surface. I felt my child was safe and away from street traffic.”
“COTSELC is a loving environment that feels like a family.”
About Us
Church of the Saviour Early Learning Center (COTSELC) opened its doors in December 1975. As an outreach ministry of the Church of the Saviour United Methodist Church, the center has provided quality care for children ages 18 months to 5 years for over 35 years. In 1999, a before and after school program was established and in 2008 our infant room opened its doors. We now welcome all children ages 6 weeks to 7 years to our
quality care and learning center.
Publicly funded child daycare assistance is accepted. The center also participates in the Child and Adult Care Food Program, which assists the center in providing nutritional meals.
Our Philosophy
At Church of the Saviour Early Learning Center, we welcome all cultures, races, and religions.
We believe that children learn by doing. By providing a variety of developmentally appropriate experiences in a warm, nurturing environment, a child can know that he/she is a unique individual who has a special place in the world. The center's focus promotes the total growth and development of the individual child; physically, socially, emotionally, cognitively, and creatively.
The center's environment is not a substitute for the child's family life, but it supplements the care and protection that the child receives from the parent or guardian. An atmosphere of friendliness and respect between the center staff and the parents is important in helping a child feel that he or she has a special place in the center and that there is continuity and consistency between the center and the home.
